Official anchors, traveler decisions, explicit limits.
We begin with the decision a traveler must make, then bind each durable factual claim to a primary source. We never treat the former parish, Lagoa municipality, a marketplace search polygon, a hotel label and a walkable neighborhood as interchangeable.
How an area earns a name
An editorial area needs a recognizable official anchor and a distinct repeated-day pattern. It must also say what it excludes. Walking claims remain conditional on the accommodation entrance, gradient, pavement, steps, heat and traveler mobility.
Carvoeiro lower centre
Anchor: Praia do Carvoeiro and its immediately adjoining restaurant-and-terrace streets
Limit: A traveler walking catchment used to test meals, beach access and evenings; not the former civil parish, the whole Lagoa municipality or every accommodation listing labelled Carvoeiro.
Confidence: high
Algar Seco walking shoulder
Anchor: The town-side approach to Lagoa's approximately 600 m Caminho do Algar Seco
Limit: An editorial coast-walking corridor between the lower town and the municipal boardwalk; not a formal neighbourhood and not the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail.
Confidence: high
Vale Centeanes stay corridor
Anchor: Praia do Vale de Centeanes and the official western endpoint of the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail
Limit: A traveler area around those two official anchors; not a synonym for every eastern Carvoeiro resort, Vale Covo, Benagil or a marketplace's broad search area.
Confidence: high
Outer villa and resort belt
Anchor: Accommodation outside the repeated lower-centre or Centeanes walking loops
Limit: A descriptive inventory pattern, never a neighbourhood. Every property must be judged from its exact entrance, access road and transport plan.
Confidence: medium
Evidence and change risk
Every record carries its URL, checked date, supported claim, confidence and change risk. High-risk transport and authority pages need a fresh launch check. Marketplaces only show that bookable inventory exists and how broad labels are used; they do not establish bookings, visitor demand, revenue, earnings, conversion, price leadership or quality.
Three independent gates
Commercial value asks whether relevant inventory and a useful booking handoff exist. Audience access asks whether people can reliably reach the product through an approved live domain and distribution. Visitor demand needs its own first-party or credible query evidence. A strong result in one gate cannot substitute for another, and no synthetic score is calculated.
What changes at launch
Only explicit production approval can move the registry, worker headers, robots, sitemap, schema and automated-retrieval posture together. The source ledger must pass its risk-based freshness check on the launch date.
